I got up this morning and ...
I've been an absent blogger, but hope to do better. I don't have any right to ask for help, but I need help with a few things and was hoping that you all might have some ideas. Here it goes:
1) Some of you know that Jeff has been laid off until the spring so we are looking for a better company he can work for. If anyone has any contacts in the maritime industry (tug boats, private yachts) he can work as a captain or mate.
2) I am starting non-profit that will be doing what we did for the Jubilee House. The mission of the non-profit is to create environments, through interior design, that promote warmth, relaxation and functionality within community living spaces. The problem is I don't have a name for my non-profit. So I'm having a contest. The winner will win a $25 gift certificate of their choice. The name needs to include "design and foundation" in the title. Please send suggestions to trishhepworth@comcast.net. The contest ends October 10th. I will post the winner on my blog by the 15th.
3) I am writing a letter to Oprah asking her for a "Harpo Hook-Up." One thing I"ve learned (and am still learning) from being sick is that I can't do it all by myself. I need outside help starting this non-profit and I hear she has a few connections. If you find yourself up at 3 am and need something to do other than watch infomercials, please feel free to write a letter to her on behalf of my nameless-foundation. I figure the more letters she gets about my dream the better chance I have of her reading them.
I guess that is it for me. We all are going through so many life changes and I try and tell myself that everything happens for a reason. At the time they might not seem right, but there is always a plan. My faviorte saying right now is "If one is lucky, a solitary fantasy can totally transform one million realities." Maya Angelou
Something to think about and strive for.
